A Growing Problem
If I were to ask you, "What's one thing you wish you had been taught in high school?" I'd be willing to bet that something personal finance related made it into your top couple choices. For most people, personal finance is learned one of two ways; either by parents, or, more likely, in a trial-by-fire type experience.
Even for the most studious, learning about personal finance is difficult because of the over-abundance of bad information and the lack of a credible (and engaging) organized repository of information. That's why I founded StockMotion, my passion project!
Trial By Fire
When surveyed, a large percentage of respondents aged 20-35 and in the workforce who are already investing, consider themselves to be under-prepared. This means that there are many investors who are learning how to operate on a live battlefield.
Resources Not Found
Among the same group mentioned above, an even larger portion of respondents felt "Intimidated" about researching and learning how to invest on their own. Since schools aren't teaching financial literacy, and people are on their own when it comes to personal finance, it's no wonder that this is a problem.
Gamified Learning
StockMotion is a game that sends users on a journey through various curriculums such as retirement planning, investing basics, personal finance, and more. It's a program that employers can offer to their employees for FREE. The account admin can even set up company-wide tournaments where their employees can compete to see who can progress through the curriculums and perform the best on mini-games, tests, and other assessments for prizes.
